Fun Day later this year

Fun Day with Companion Dog Show and Character Test being arranged for early Summer 2010, venue and date to be released shortly. Our chosen Charity is Cancer and Bio-Detection Dogs check them out on our links page. Open to all pedigrees, crossbreeds and mongrels.

Thank you to all 8 dogs and owners that attended our Club’s first Character Test today and to the Assessor Jude Brendon. It was a first for Jude with a GSD aged 5 and Long Coat Weimaraner aged 9 both obtaining Excellent.

Crufts 2010

The club was present in the Discover Dogs are at Crufts 2010 and it was another lovely 4 days from 11th-14th March. Over whelming at times with the public admiring and cuddling the Swissies who were all doing great PR for their breed over the 4 days. The youngsters took it all in their stride. All the lovely comments about the dogs and the booth decoration. Everyone that attended said it was great to see all the health screens in place and temperament tests before breeding and that all the pups are reared in the family home not outside in kennels or stables and the lifetime support given.

LOCATING/PURCHASING A QUALITY GSMD PUPPY

Locating a quality breeder is not easy but by contacting the breed club you shuld be on the right tract. Most reputable, responsible breeders have websites but be careful.

Rehoming

Todate our breed club has not had to rehome any lovely Swissies but people’s circumstances change and they need to turn to someone who cares, understands the breed and can give help and advice.

So anyone who experiences difficulties, or knows of a Swissy needing help, a family who needs to rehome their Swissy for whatever reason, please contact this club and you won't be turned away.

All donations no matter how small are greatly appreciated for the future of this breed so that a less fortunate Swissy can be helped should the situation arise.
